BMet is known for supporting its learners through their courses and giving them the confidence and skills, they need to excel in the next areas of their academic journey, as well as their future job roles.
BMet’s Sutton Coldfield College is home to its A-level Centre, where school leavers can enrol on exciting subjects to get them ready for their chosen pathway at university. Last year, 1,049 students from the college were accepted onto places at university.

Courses available to learners include A-level sociology, law, anthropology, psychology, business, biology, chemistry and physics. The vocational specialisms offered at Sutton Coldfield College include: Business, Creative Art, Digital Media, E-sports, Finance, Healthcare, Lifesciences, Performing Arts, Public Services, Sport, STEM subjects and Travel and Tourism. The college also runs a variety of Sports Academies which are offered to all BMet students – regardless of which college they study at.
BMet has its own Professional Services Academy – an initiative to help students pursuing a career in the business, law, finance or property sectors. Based at the college’s Matthew Boulton site in Birmingham city centre, students can receive expert support in their chosen field of study with workshops and lectures from industry professionals, as well as diverse work experience opportunities.
While James Watt College specialises in Construction and Engineering, Media and Games, Health and Social Care and Early Years. BMet also offers T Levels in Construction, Digital, Health Care in Adult Nursing and a Teaching Assistant pathway.
The college also has a strong apprenticeship programme with links with international employers and is rated good by Ofsted for its apprenticeships and overall, 16-18 study programmes.
