LEAVING school this year? What next? Dudley College has a range of course types including vocational courses, A-levels, T Levels and apprenticeships.
Full-time vocational courses provide training and qualifications related to specific jobs and sectors. The college offers a range of course levels in variety of subjects, including: accountancy, admin, business, law, animal science, art & design, media, eSports, computer games design, music, performing arts, production arts, health, care & early years, construction, engineering, hair & beauty, hospitality & catering, information & technology, motor vehicle, public services, science, sport and travel & tourism.
Vocational courses are a viable alternative to studying A-levels, enabling students to progress directly to their career choice or go on to university. Most universities accept vocational qualifications and students have an added advantage of at least two years’ experience studying a specific subject giving them a head start on the competition both at university and in employment.
T Levels are a new qualification, equivalent to 3 A-levels, which focus on vocational skills to support students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships. T Levels suit students who want to work towards a skilled occupation, prefer a practical approach to learning and want to get significant work experience as part of their learning experience. Each T Level includes an in-depth 45-day industry placement providing valuable experience in the workplace.
Apprenticeships Dudley College also offers a diverse range of apprenticeships covering accountancy, hairdressing, construction, engineering, early years, children and education, health and social care, hospitality and catering, motor vehicle, sports and leisure and many popular apprenticeships for business such as business administration, customer services, team leading and management. Apprentices earn a salary while working towards their career goal, developing skills and knowledge whilst in the workplace and studying for a level 2 or3qualification at the same time. An apprenticeship can also lead to a degree level qualification. Apprenticeships can be a fast-track career option and often apprentices move up the career ladder quickly.
