Many of our students live at home and commute to the campus. By living at home, keeping friends and routines, and often juggling other responsibilities or work, there is still the opportunity to enjoy university, to ‘fit in’ and have an immediate sense of belonging – learning new skills with new friends, people just like you.

The university also has a range of accommodation options, and on-campus halls give students the opportunity to feel a part of the active student body, as well as providing easy access to on-site facilities. With a fantastic reputation for training teachers, Newman University Newman University is proud to offer a variety of courses, including humanities, social sciences, sport, business, policing, nursing and psychotherapy. Newman University is a friendly community of staff and students, and small class sizes mean that academic staff can give personal care and attention to each student. 

At Newman, you know your tutors and your tutors know you – they will challenge and stretch you to reach your potential and support your learning journey. You will be taught by academics who are experts within their field, and are passionate in sharing this knowledge with you. Work-related learning opportunities are built into the structure for each course, which aim to give you the key life skills and experience needed for employment when you graduate. There are also plenty of opportunities to meet employers through our Careers Service or set up your own business with the support of our Enterprise Team. 

You can immerse yourself in university life through societies, sports clubs or by becoming a student ambassador or course representative. Whatever your passion, Newman University encourages you to get involved, and to take an active part in the Newman community.

Our Open Days are a wonderful opportunity for you to experience the sense of belonging our students have, in being part of our university community. You will be able to meet lecturers and with current Newman students, have a tour of the campus and see how Newman could be your university.
