Pool Hayes Academy
AT Pool Hayes Academy, we believe that all young people have the ability and opportunity to be successful.
Through this success, we unlock their potential and empower our students to make a positive contribution to the wider world. ‘Unlocking Your Potential – Empowering Through Success’ is not just our vision, it is our purpose and guides our actions. Our post-16 students play a key role in our academy and shaping our student experience.
Our Sixth Form offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses with opportunities for students to improve English and mathematics grades if necessary. Students are also offered a super curriculum including online courses and virtual work experience. Year 12 students participate in work experience in the summer term and are guided through UCAS and apprenticeship applications by our dedicated academic tutors.
Students meet with their tutor and form group daily, where they complete personal development tasks such as votes for schools, assemblies and news with current affairs. Students benefit from an incredibly supportive learning environment from both peers and teachers, who are always on standby to ensure that students’ potential is unlocked. We host a range of post-18 visitors from a variety of different careers to present to our students, these include local MPs, The Navy and NCS. Students will also get chance to develop their interpersonal skills through Duke of Edinburgh, student leadership, mentoring and ‘giving it back’ enrichment opportunities.
We value our student leadership team within our sixth form. They actively participate in events around our academy and within our local community. President, Cora-Talia Froggatt believes: “Pool Hayes Sixth Form makes every pupil feel valued and has been extremely useful in helping us decide the academic or work path we wish to take. We can happily say that we are proud to be part of Pool Hayes Sixth Form and could not wish to study anywhere else.”
By choosing to study at Pool Hayes Academy Sixth Form you will be opting to study in an environment with a strong sense of community, where everyone is valued, supported and encouraged to develop both academically and socially.
