SIXTH FORM IS ASPIRING FOR EXCELLENCE
Codsall Community High School’s sixth form is one of the highest achieving sixth forms in Staffordshire and students are proud of their achievements, continuously striving to fulfil their potential, whether that is personally or academically.
There are a variety of excellent opportunities for students to participate in, providing a broad balance of challenging and successful experiences which give crucial stepping stones for life beyond Key Stage 5.
Students benefit from an incredibly supportive learning environment from both peers and teachers, who are always on standby to ensure that students’ potential is reached.
Additionally, a further support network of specialist sixth form staff are on hand to guide and support. Vice Student President Aryan believes the support he receives is one of the centre’s special qualities.
He said: “Codsall High Sixth Form has always proved itself to be a safe space; a space whereIcan feel
accepted and understood. “This sixth form creates a sense of belonging and for me that is irreplaceable and hard to find.”
Headteacher Simon Maxfield believes the sixth form provides the perfect platform for students readying themselves for future life. He added: “At Codsall Sixth Form we aim to educate the whole person and the young people who come to our sixth form are fantastic examples of the confident, selfless and hardworking people we aspire for them to be.”
There are always opportunities for students to take responsibility for their individual learning in order to increase their independence. This can be through enrichment where students learn more about their own capabilities within a different environment, or by taking responsibility in managing their time appropriately during free periods.
Student President Niroon endorses the opportunities Codsall Sixth Form Centre offers its students. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Codsall Sixth Form, especially in my role as Sixth Form Student President. “I have developed not only my academic skills, but also my personal skills, preparing me for the world ahead of me. “There is nowhere I would have rather spent my final years in formal education, and I can only give credit to the staff, and the students I have spent my time with here for that.”
Head of Sixth Form Mrs E Mayor is proud of the centre. She added: “Life at Codsall Sixth Form is exciting, challenging, evolving and ultimately very rewarding. “We offer a fantastic curriculum, teaching and support to our students and are proud of what we have to offer.”
